Programs Offered

Preschool A is our main featured classroom at Mi Familia Child Care Center, and is for preschoolers ages 4-5 years of age.

This classroom focuses on Kindergarten Readiness, both academically and socially. Children repeatedly practice number and letter recognition, shapes, colors, and writing their first names. They are taught a creative curriculum that incorporates puppet shows, awesome crafts, science experiments, singing and dancing, and hands on learning so they are excited to learn more.

-Socially they are taught school rules and managing emotions through problem-solving. This class will ensure that your preschooler is ready for kindergarten and ahead of the curve. We are 4 Star parent-aware rated, the highest rating possible!

Preschool B is our early preschool classroom, where the young ones (ages 30 months – 3 year olds) get their first taste of a preschool setting, and are acclimated slowly to the routine of preschool.

The teachers in this classroom work with this age group to develop pro social behaviors (i.e. potty training, managing big emotions, and working toward being independent).

-Children do a basic circle time, sing and dance, and explore sensory materials to stimulate learning through play. Teachers are patient and know that the attention span of this age group is shorter. This is a great start for those looking to give their children their first preschool experience!

Throughout the school year Mi Familia provides school-age care Monday-Friday before and after school.

-School agers are dropped off starting at 6:45 in the morning and are dropped off at their respective schools in one of Mi Familia Child Care Center’s Transport vehicles. Children are also picked up from school each afternoon and brought back to our center for after school care. Children who receive bussing are also accepted and can be dropped off and picked up from our facility. Snacks are provided daily for all school agers.

This is for ages six and up and is one of our most popular programs! School agers are tied to embrace their individuality and uniqueness, as well as being empathetic towards others.

-School agers are kept busy all summer with a variety of field trips like: Science Museum, visiting the Minnesota History Center, attending sporting events, and going to the movies. School agers also enjoy WEEKLY visits to the splash pools in SSP and IGH! School agers also volunteer regularly at Feed My Starving Children (Eagan), and see firsthand how their efforts make a difference in the lives of others.

-Open May through the month of August, 6:45 am- 5:00 pm. It’s never too early to reserve your child’s spot for the summer, this program fills up quickly!

At Mi Familia Care, we believe in incorporating the Spanish Language into our daily schedule. We believe teaching a child to be bilingual at a young age to benefit them in the future. Studies show that being bilingual has many cognitive benefits. According to research, speaking a second language can mean that you have a better attention span and can multitask better than monolinguals. This is because being bilingual means you are constantly switching from one language to the other. It can also give your child an educational advantage.

We participate in the food program through Providers Choice Inc. To ensure each meal served at Mi Familia is properly proportioned and nutritious for each age group of children.

  • Children who spend a full day with us or given breakfast, lunch, and an evening snack.

At Mi Familia Care not only do we prepare the child for further education, we also focus on helping the child accept their individuality by embracing who they are and educating them on their self worth.
